Is feeling super sick at the moment. Probably because I haven't been sleeping all too well these past few days. Oh well, just gotta hang in there I suppose... not much choice in the matter anyhow...
It’s been about half a month since I’ve moved here, to Chicago, and I can honestly say I am getting used to city life. After I forget about the clouds of cigarette smoke, the sickly sweet smell of sewage, the beady eyes of fat pigeons and seagulls, and the wind (no, seriously…), this place is beginning to feel like home. I’ve even gotten used to the thumping of the unit above me, but to be fair, they are quieter than all the squirrels that used to run across the roof at my old house.
Now I just have to get used to taking public transportation and everything will be cheeky.
Something I’ve been noticing lately… Where did all the webmasters go? Does anyone remember back in the day when some of the super popular websites, for example, Saruna.net, Swimchick.net, Outspoken-kate.com used to update almost daily?… I guess it’s because we’ve all grown up quite a bit…
Well, I hope all of you are doing well! Good luck to those returning to school… it’s just around the corner!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven’t been really all that active since summer began, I’ve just been trying to soak in as much social time as I can before the move. (About 10 or so more days). Sadly at this point I’ve discovered just how little I will miss Texas. Sure, there are a few specific people that I will regret to leave but, I sort of feel relieved to have a fresh start in Chicago. I’ve never experienced city life, nevertheless, I have a feeling it’ll suit me just dandy. For now, I will keep clinging onto my friends until I finally board the plane and wave goodbye to this suffocatingly hot state.
Oh. And, out of boredom, I videotaped a squirrel that was in my yard today.
So, I’m sure a lot of you are feeling a great sense of relief that summer is just around the corner. Well, as most of you know, I am going to undergo a major life-style change this summer – in a good way, I hope. Yes, unfortunately my little predictions a few months ago were far from accurate, my family and I are in reality moving up to Chicago. Having lived most of my life in a small rural town, and then in the suburbs of a larger city, I’m not sure how easily I will adjust to life in a big city. (No joke, I will be smack-dab in the middle of downtown). But I am looking forward to experiencing living in such a busy city even if I’ve been stressing out over the move these past few weeks. I suppose I should be used to moving by now, since I have done so every 4-5 years. Nevertheless, I will miss all of my friends and my normal routines. On the bright side, I will be dedicating the majority of my life online during this summer – both to improve my portfolio for college, and also because, to be honest… I see myself spending my time sulking in the dark corner of my future office. The virtual world, this little haven in the midst of change and uncertainty, will no doubt offer me a sense of security. Now, I just have to allow myself to accept the fact that this isn’t the end of the world, that I will learn to love Chicago and the people there also. Easier said than done, I must admit.
Anyhow, the bird outside my window finally decided to fall asleep. It is amazing how loud our little feathered friends can be at 3:00am in the morning. I guess I’d rather eat a bird than listen to one. Yum.
Hopefully everyone is hanging on there… don’t worry, we’ll get through this together. :]

Hey there everyone, I know I haven’t blogged in quite a while (a real blog at least) so I hope this one makes up for the lack.
Firstly, I was really thinking about switching over to Tumblr over the past few weeks. My contemplations started when I saw that Anthony was using this mini blogging (?… I’m not sure what Tumblr falls under really) system to power his website. I was just about to link the good ol’ URL up to the Tumblr system when I realized a flaw in my plans – what would happen to my old blog posts? And here we are, still with Wordpress, not to mention still unable to update to the newest version do the my laziness to overcome the mySQL issue.
Still, it’s not the end of the world. I’d rather drag along this blog that’s filled with my memories.
A few weekends ago I went to regionals for FBLA. (State in April!… And hopefully nationals after that. Maybe I’ll see some of you webbies there?) Everything went fairly well until my partner and I realized that our laptop – woe and behold the school issued piece of junk was… a piece of junk – would not connect to the site. (Since we were in a website development competition… this posed to be quite the dilemma.) I had voiced my concerns earlier when the school techies set me up for off-site use, however, they apparently assumed that I would only need to access websites within my school’s network. In other words, I could view the current available job positions being offered in my school, but besides that, nothing. Thankfully, another group allowed us to borrow their laptop. (Not without grumblings from one of the pair…) Long story short, the day ended well as I added another first-place medal to the collection. Three years in a row. Excuse my ego.
Well, I hope everyone is having a good 2010 so far (:
I plan on finally producing t-shirts within the next month or so, but for now, go check out the goodies I have over at Shanalogic.com!
