I honestly cannot believe that this school year is over. It really only seems like yesterday that I was scrambling around the school trying to find my classes. I am truly going to miss getting up early every morning, eating the greasy drenched cafeteria food, grease is such a nice flavor enhancer…, tripping down the wrapper strewn hallways, and even the killer binders that like to attack every now and then. 
But on a brighter note, no school= more free time= more time for the site, and friends, of course. So today I set out on the challenge to create a web 2.0 style layout on an actual theme. Since well, most of my layouts during the school year were just random whims and vector experiments. Oh ho! Not this time. And although the end result isn’t that coherent, I will try my best to explain what is going on. The adorable Pin in the penguin suit up there was inspired by my friend, David, who really resembles a cute - yet incredibly skinny- penguin. At first that was all I had planned for this layout, but then I thought to myself, You know what Roo? You can do better than this for your first summer layout…, and so came the creation of the Pin’s arch nemesis, Willy the walrus. After a few more hours of vectoring, I added to the layout a few sidekicks, text, and well there you have it. I’m not sure when the scythe wielding Mochi came into the picture, but one more character couldn’t hurt, right?
And this is how I get my wonderfully creative names:

And I would like to clarify…the Pin wasn’t TOTALLY random. Because we were conversing abut how I was going to name something after one of my idols eventually, which made me think of bakanishi, which made me think of YamaPi, which made me think of just Pi, which ended up having an “n” on the end of it, which ended up being typed, and…Oh whatever.
BUT I LOVE THIS LAYOUT! XDDD The vectors so pwn anything I can do. And SO CUTE WAHHAHAHAHAHH.
I endore team scythe-wielding mochi….

I had been feeling the same way up until the very end of the school year… it felt like the year had just flown by. But then the evil Mr. Lindsey (who is actually my favorite teacher but went horribly amiss on this project) assigned us a STUPID EVIL DISGUSTING HATEFUL USELESS project which made me deeessspppppeeeeerrrraaaatttttteeeeeee for the school year to end.
