Although I won’t be leaving for a few days, I probably won’t blog again anytime soon. I will still be updating until the very end, you just won’t be able to read any tidbits from my life for about two weeks. I hope everyone likes this new layout! Want to have this style for your own site? Well, I plan on having a few new css templates based on this layout soon.

I wonder… what do people do during the summertime? I have never realized how many hours, minutes, and seconds are included in one day. (24 hours, 1440 minutes, and 86400 seconds?) Overall it doesn’t seem like much time at all, so why is it that I always find myself eagerly waiting for the sun to set and an excuse to dive under my covers? Maybe I should start a long term project that will take my mind off what I have been doing, or in this case, haven’t been doing. 
Well, if worst comes to worst, I can always hover around one of my particular group of friends that have just recently started filming for their new mini movie. From what I hear of it so far, it is quite the drama! Perhaps I can bully that group into letting me post the video on the site… wouldn’t that be fun? 
The past week, as you may have deduced, was in no way entertaining for me. I can only think of a few events that are somewhat worth blogging about, and number one on the list is the ever so frustrating story of how impossible it is to register for summer school in Plano. 
It’s true, I never would have guessed how long the line of chipper bright faces could stretch. Thank goodness I arrived on time, otherwise, I’m sure I’d have been standing outside in the scorching sun for who knows how long. But due to my snappy morning routine, I found myself walking inside the front doors of the building around 9:00am, an hour after I arrived. I was triumphantly half skipping down the hall until I saw the seemingly endless line of impatient, red faced people. And so the waiting continued. After another six episodes of rounding around corners and facing interminable strands of people, I finally reached the sign up area. At this point my pinkie toes felt like they were going to fall off… don’t ask, I know I walk funny. But all and all, I guess I wouldn’t really have anything better planned to take place of those tiring 3 hours of waiting, grumbling, and people watching.

I honestly cannot believe that this school year is over. It really only seems like yesterday that I was scrambling around the school trying to find my classes. I am truly going to miss getting up early every morning, eating the greasy drenched cafeteria food, grease is such a nice flavor enhancer…, tripping down the wrapper strewn hallways, and even the killer binders that like to attack every now and then. 
But on a brighter note, no school= more free time= more time for the site, and friends, of course. So today I set out on the challenge to create a web 2.0 style layout on an actual theme. Since well, most of my layouts during the school year were just random whims and vector experiments. Oh ho! Not this time. And although the end result isn’t that coherent, I will try my best to explain what is going on. The adorable Pin in the penguin suit up there was inspired by my friend, David, who really resembles a cute – yet incredibly skinny- penguin. At first that was all I had planned for this layout, but then I thought to myself, You know what Roo? You can do better than this for your first summer layout…, and so came the creation of the Pin’s arch nemesis, Willy the walrus. After a few more hours of vectoring, I added to the layout a few sidekicks, text, and well there you have it. I’m not sure when the scythe wielding Mochi came into the picture, but one more character couldn’t hurt, right?
