A slow week
Due to the fact that this was the end of the first six weeks in school, I have nothing exciting to blog about except my mediocre grades. And I’m sure no one wants to hear me ramble about that.
I suppose the only thing that brightened the past 7 days was my new love for Sculpey clay. Most people have probably seen those cute clay charms on deviantart, if you don’t, look up =Oborochann and be amazed. The cute simplicity of her artwork simply made me go dig in my closet for the Sculpey III sampler pack I received when I was in 4th grade. It was finally time to put it to work.
I decided that for my first charm, I would make my little dinosaur (featured in layout 2.0). I chose him because I honestly didn’t think that his shape would be too hard, I was wrong… as always. Someone should have warned me that the charm making process takes tremendous patience. Especially if you end up decapitating your creation.
In the end, I finally created a more compact, sturdy charm which is drying as I type. I can’t wait to see the finished product!
The person who motivated me to start the charm making was probably Eva. At first I seriously thought she was a sugar high sophomore who loved to make puns out of my name. But after 1-2 hours of sitting down and chatting with her, I found that we actually have a lot of the same interests. For instance, we were both DIY (do-it-yourself) fanatics. I’m going to start collaborating with her sometimes  wish us luck!
So that was my journey into the world of Sculpey, a very complicated path which at one point or another, you will end up asking 3 salespersons at Michales where the Sculpey Satin Glaze is located - Tucked into the back corner of a shelf, virtually impossible for an impatient person to find. Oh how the world has changed, whatever happened to bright neon price tags and labels?

Visit Ella's siteFirst of all, Ruiting, think about us country bumpkins in Iowa whenever you get depressed about your straight A’s. Here, getting a B is actually sort of acceptable (gasp!)
Anyway. I. LOVE. DEVIANTART!!! I’m doing this little project that involve photoshopping about fifteen pictures into submission, but google wasn’t giving me good pix so I went to deviantart. And it ROCKS!! I don’t know about sculpies because I only look for pictures, but I think your dinosaur is very cute, decapitated and all. I can’t sculpt anything. You should see the army of clay cats I made in elementary school. Now they look like squares on top of boxes with little things sticking out of them XP

I love clay though! That sounds like fun. Even if it’s frustrating, it’s not in an intense level. I hope it turns out pretty!
