Yeah, definitely check out Filezilla. I've been using it for years and it's great.

Thanks Joy, I'll have to check that out too! I am currently using TextWrangler, and I do admit it's better than notepad because of its formatting (and colors!), but I'm a girl of habits, and I miss notepad's simplicity.

There are actually some pretty cool programs you can use. I use cyberduck FTP. It's free and it's pretty easy to use. Also, for coding, textwrangler is pretty good. I like it because it's just like coding with notepad but its a little more advanced. It also has an FTP on it but it's only one way.

Hey Jaylin,

Right now I'm using FireFTP :) it's not the greatest thing in the world, but it lets me do the bare minimum. I'll check out Filezilla though!

Ah, I get what you're saying about the Apps... but then again I'm generally too lazy to go through and thoroughly delete them... I just end up hiding them in some folder - out of sight, out of mind.

I think the main reason I decided to go with a mac is because of it's security... I really don't have enough money to throw into a new laptop every 2 years, which is generally what I end up doing if I go the PC route. Oh well, there are trade-offs... but I guess all in all, I'm lucky to have something that allows me to get on the internet and type up my papers. Good enough, I shouldn't complain too much :)

Yes, there are definitely major cons to having OS X. And what programs are you trying to find? Maybe I can help? If you're talking purely about and FTP client, Filezilla has a mac client.

The main thing I hate about having OS X, are that I have to buy another OS just to play games. Not a lot of commercial game devs, support OS X which really sucks. Also, there's no plain and simple way to uninstall an app. Throwing it in the trash doesn't always fully get rid of everything associated with it, so I have to use <a href="http://onnati.net/apptrap/" rel="nofollow">AppTrap</a>.

But, don't give up! There's lot to love about OS X. You never have to worry about malware, better apps are available for OS X, not to mention how good it looks!

Wonders what it can do. I sure didn't seeing you using this in your layout, so I was surprised you pulled it off, so kudos to you ;P

@Anthony: Can't go wrong with a nicely styled 2-column layout.

I've never thought about coding that way before...It is definitely a benefit. I will admit that when I make an effort to code pages - which I need to work on, that my typing gets better the longer that I do it. :)

Thankfully I've never been forced to use Dreamweaver, although I have edited other's code that was created in it. Personally, I guess it is easier to use it if you are a beginner (since it lines up the tags for you), but I think it's better to learn from scratch because Dreamweaver teaches HORRIBLE habits

Being a coder has kind of been a curse for me. In class we are required to use Dreamweaver when coding and it has this auto code system and because I know the code myself, I'll often end up with double the code.
