Goodness, can a week be any slower?
I’m sure many teens across America are relieved that the first week of school is over! Now, we just have to lay back and relax during the much-needed labor day weekend.
So far I am loving high school, all except a few little details. Number one on my list are the killer binders that just love to attack me in the hallways. Whether on purpose or by coincidence, I’ve had several incidents with people ramming me in the arm with their sharp binder corners. Needless to add that I have many scars across my arms now- it’s only a matter of time before someone accuses that I’m cutting myself on purpose.
Another peevish thing I’d like to mention- to all those with hard-to-pronounce names, I’m sure you’ll sympathize. Since it’s the first few days back, the teachers, of course, feel the need to pronounce and slaughter our names. This year, I decided to go by my nickname, Roo, which should make it easier for the teachers… or so I thought. I’m not sure how many other ways “Roo” could be mispronounced, but I sure bet my bag of flaming hot cheetos that I’ve heard them all by now.
And, as a lost note, for all who have embarrassed themselves on their first week, this story will make you feel better. Most people I meet can tell I’m a klutz within a few hours, which I guess isn’t too great. I’m not sure if I’m just at an awkward stage of life (oh goodness, I hope not) or if my head-landing “accidents” have finally taken their toll. Anyways, on Wednesday during 7th period, I had to walk up to the front of the room and present a project with my group. Halfway through Shakespeare’s famous words, “To be, or not to be, that is the question!”, I suddenly felt something pull me down. The next thing I knew, my knees had smacked the floor as a roar of laughter came up from the crowd. Apparently they had thought that I had done it on purpose to be funny. Heh, sure… on purpose…
Site wise, look forward to a new layout!
which I hope to get up by Monday, wish me luck!
